Ocean Race in Harbour SCH

We hope everyone had a fantastic week in Scheveningen! We would like to share some highlights of our experiences during the Ocean Race in Scheveningen.

On Monday and Tuesday, Sportinnovator organised a two-day networking event at Campus@Sea. Participants were able to view the Ocean Race boats from the water, and Maurits Hendriks gave a masterclass.

On Wednesday, a press conference was held at Campus@Sea with all the skippers of the Ocean Race. That day, we, the Campus@Sea team, were at the World Forum for the Ocean & North Sea Summit. It was a well-organised day with fascinating speakers and breakout sessions.

The opening was conducted by Minister Harbers of Infrastructure and Water Management. We had the opportunity to hear about the experiences of sailors and learn more about foiling and the reorganisation of the North Sea.

In the evening, we attended the W. van der Zwan en Zonen B.V. drinks reception on the occasion of the Ocean Race, where we saw the boats returning from the in-port race just off the coast of Scheveningen.

On Thursday, we organised a convivial drinks reception on our beautiful roof terrace, where we saw the IMOCAs depart for the final leg of the Ocean Race.

Although we couldn’t see the collision between two boats with the naked eye, we were at the front when the two ships involved returned. Fortunately, all sailors are unharmed.

The drinks reception on our roof terrace provided a great opportunity to share our experiences and enthusiasm with like-minded people while enjoying the beautiful weather. It was the ideal occasion to make new contacts and strengthen existing relationships.

We look back with pride on a wonderful week full of inspiration, innovation and fun during the Ocean Race in Scheveningen. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this event. Let’s use the knowledge and contacts we have gained to work together towards a better future for the maritime sector and our oceans.
